Daily Selfie Time-Lapse
Daily Selfie Time-Lapse for Android — package com.nexperlabmedia.selfielapse
Effective date: 2026-09-11 · Last updated: 2026-09-15
At a glance
This app takes one selfie a day and plays them back as a time-lapse. It has no account, no login and no developer-operated server. The photos are written to the app's private storage and stay there — they are not added to your gallery, not visible to other apps, and not uploaded anywhere. Google AdMob and Google Play Billing are the only third parties involved. Version 1.1.0 adds two things and no new permission: the time-lapse can be encoded as an MP4 file by the device’s own video encoder and saved to your gallery when you run an export, and a missing day can be filled in from a picture you pick in the system photo picker. Both happen entirely on the phone.
| Data sent to the developer | None. The developer operates no server for this app. |
|---|---|
| Account or sign-in | None. |
| Local data | Your daily selfies as JPEG files in the app's private folder, plus your settings, the reminder time, the video-export options and the record of which days were filled in later |
| Photos / camera frames | Stored in the app's private directory selfies/, named by date. Not added to the gallery, not readable by other apps. A day can also be filled in from a picture you pick in the system photo picker; that copy is stored the same way. |
| Video export | The MP4 is encoded by the device's own video encoder, written to the app's temporary directory, and then added to your gallery — where it is yours, like any other video. Nothing is uploaded. |
| Third parties | Google AdMob (banner and interstitial ads) and Google Play Billing (the ad-free purchase). No analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. |
| Permissions declared | CAMERA, AD_ID, BILLING, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* |
1. What the app stores on your device
Each selfie is saved as a JPEG in the app's private documents directory, in a folder named selfies, with the date as the file name. That directory belongs to the app alone: other apps cannot read it, it does not appear in your gallery, and it is removed when the app is uninstalled. Your settings — the reminder on/off and its time, playback speed, theme, language — and the ad-free purchase and consent state are stored with shared_preferences in the same private storage. None of it is transmitted to the developer.
Version 1.1.0 stores two more kinds of local setting in the same private shared_preferences: the video-export options you last chose (frame rate, aspect ratio, whether the date is stamped on the frames, how long the last frame is held) and, for each day you filled in from the gallery rather than photographing on the day, a marker that it was filled in later — the app uses it to label that frame honestly in the video. Neither is transmitted to the developer.
2. Camera and photos
The front camera is used to take the photo you approve. The camera runs with audio disabled, and the app requests no microphone permission. Because the photos never leave the app's private folder, you decide if and when a picture reaches the outside world, by sharing it yourself.
Since 1.1.0 a missing day can also be filled in from a photo you already have. The app opens the system photo picker, which needs no permission and hands the app only the single picture you chose — never your photo library. That picture is copied into the app’s private selfies folder as that day’s entry and marked as filled in later; the original in your gallery is untouched. The app requests no READ_MEDIA_* permission, and those permissions are stripped from the merged manifest.
3. Reminder notifications
The app can post a local daily reminder to take today's selfie. It is scheduled by Android on your device (an inexact schedule; no exact-alarm permission is used) and nothing is sent to any server — there is no push service in the app. On Android 13 and later the reminder needs POST_NOTIFICATIONS, which you can grant or deny, and revoke later in Android settings. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED exists only to restore the schedule after your phone restarts. Turning the reminder off in Settings cancels it.
4. Time-lapse video export
The app can turn the selfies you selected into an MP4 file. Every step is local:
- Encoding happens on your device. The frames are drawn by the app and encoded by Android’s own platform video encoder (MediaCodec/MediaMuxer, reached through the
flutter_quick_video_encoderplugin). No encoding service, no upload, and the plugin adds no permission of its own. - The file is written to the app’s temporary directory first, and then added to your device gallery through
MediaStorewhen the export you started finishes. From that moment the video is an ordinary item in your gallery: yours to keep, move, share or delete, and no longer under the app’s control. - No storage permission was added for this.
MediaStoreallows the write without one on modern Android. On an Android version old enough to still require WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, the app does not ask for it: the save simply fails, the screen tells you so plainly instead of pretending it worked, and the share sheet remains available so you can send the file yourself.
The developer receives no copy of the video and no information about it.
5. What the app does not collect
The app does not request or read your name, email address, phone number, contacts, messages, calendar, location, or any file outside the places described above. It has no account system, no sign-in and no cloud sync, and it contains no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Apart from the requests the advertising and billing SDKs make, the app makes no network request of its own.
Three permissions are deliberately not requested. The camera library and the share library would otherwise merge them in, so the app's manifest strips them out with tools:node="remove": RECORD_AUDIO (the microphone — the camera runs with audio disabled), READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (legacy shared-storage access). They do not appear in the installed package.
Version 1.1.0 changed nothing in the permission list. Video encoding and the gallery write need no permission of their own, and the photo picker needs none either. The installed package still declares exactly CAMERA, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, AD_ID and BILLING, with INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, VIBRATE and WAKE_LOCK merged in by the advertising, billing and notification libraries.
6. Advertising (Google AdMob) and consent
The app shows a banner ad and, occasionally after a completed action, a full-screen interstitial through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To serve and measure those ads, Google may process your device's advertising ID (AD_ID), coarse device and network information, and ad interaction events. This happens inside Google's SDK; the developer does not see or store that data, and nothing you capture, scan or store in the app is given to it.
- Google's handling of that data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and the Google Privacy Policy
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app shows a Google-certified consent message (Google User Messaging Platform, UMP) before personalised ads are used. You can reopen it later from Settings → Privacy settings and change your choice.
- You can reset or delete the advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops personalised advertising on the device.
7. Ad-free purchase
A one-time in-app purchase (selfie_lapse_remove_ads) removes the ads. The purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing: the developer never receives your card number, billing address or any other payment detail, and sees only Play's aggregated sales reports. The app stores locally whether the purchase is active, so ads stop showing. Restoring the purchase on another device is handled by your Google Play account.
8. Permissions
The app declares android.permission.CAMERA (the camera), com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and com.android.vending.BILLING itself. The rest are merged in automatically by the libraries it uses:
- INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS — merged in by the Google Mobile Ads SDK, to fetch and measure ads
- com.android.vending.BILLING — the ad-free in-app purchase, handled by Google Play
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — the daily selfie reminder (Android 13+ asks you first)
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — re-registers that reminder after a reboot
9. Sharing and export
From the export screen the app renders a collage of the selfies you choose into a PNG in its temporary directory and hands it to Android's share sheet, where you choose the destination. That is the only way a picture leaves the app, and it happens only when you ask for it. The developer receives no copy.
The exported MP4 can be shared the same way, and it is also the one file the app deliberately hands to your gallery, as described above. Everything else stays inside the app.
10. Automatic backup
The manifest sets allowBackup="false". Your selfies and settings are therefore excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup — they exist only in the app's private storage on this device, and they are not copied anywhere when you set up a new phone.
11. How long data is kept, and how to delete it
Photos remain until you delete them in the app or uninstall it. Deleting a day removes its file from the private folder. Clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app, removes every photo and setting. Because automatic backup is disabled, there is no cloud copy to clean up afterwards.
A photo you filled in from the gallery is deleted like any other day; deleting it in the app does not touch the original still sitting in your gallery. An exported video, once it is in your gallery, belongs to you and is not removed when you uninstall the app — the app no longer controls it.
12. Children
The app is not directed to children and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
If the app's permissions, SDKs or data practices change, this page and its “last updated” date will be revised.

CAMERA, AD_ID, BILLING, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED는 재부팅 후 예약을 되살리는 용도뿐이다.
flutter_quick_video_encoder플러그인을 통해)가 맡는다.
카메라·공유 라이브러리가 그대로 두면 병합해 넣기 때문에, 앱 매니페스트에서 tools:node="remove"로 잘라낸다: RECORD_AUDIO(마이크 — 카메라는 오디오를 끈 채로 동작한다), READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(구형 공용 저장소 접근).
설치되는 패키지가 선언하는 것은 여전히 CAMERA, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, AD_ID, BILLING이며, 광고·결제·알림 라이브러리가 INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, VIBRATE, WAKE_LOCK를 병합해 넣는다.
일회성 인앱 상품(selfie_lapse_remove_ads)을 구매하면 광고가 사라진다.
8. 권한
앱이 직접 선언하는 것은 android.permission.CAMERA(카메라), com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID, com.android.vending.BILLING이다.
- INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS — Google Mobile Ads SDK
- com.android.vending.BILLING — 광고 제거 인앱 구매용.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — 재부팅 후 그 알림 예약을 다시 등록한다
매니페스트가 allowBackup="false"로 되어 있다.

Daily Selfie Time-Lapse
Daily Selfie Time-Lapse (Android) — パッケージ com.nexperlabmedia.selfielapse
CAMERA, AD_ID, BILLING, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED は再起動後に予約を復元するためだけに使う。
flutter_quick_video_encoderプラグイン経由) が担う。
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE がまだ必要な古いバージョンでは、アプリはその権限を要求しない。
カメラ・共有ライブラリが放置すると自動でマージするため、アプリのマニフェストで tools:node="remove" により削除している: RECORD_AUDIO(マイク — カメラは音声を無効にして動作)、READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE、WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(旧来の共有ストレージ)。
インストールされるパッケージが宣言するのは依然として CAMERA、POST_NOTIFICATIONS、RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED、AD_ID、BILLING であり、広告・課金・通知のライブラリが INTERNET、ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE、ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*、VIBRATE、WAKE_LOCK をマージする。
買い切りのアプリ内購入 (selfie_lapse_remove_ads) で広告が消える。
8. 権限
アプリ自身が宣言するのは android.permission.CAMERA(カメラ)、com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID、com.android.vending.BILLING である。
- INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID / ATTRIBUTION / TOPICS — Google Mobile Ads SDK
- com.android.vending.BILLING — 広告除去のアプリ内購入用。
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — 再起動後にそのリマインダーを再登録する
マニフェストは allowBackup="false" を指定している。

Daily Selfie Time-Lapse
| Permisos declarados | CAMERA, AD_ID, BILLING, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_* |
